Default 96 audi a4 v6 2.8l fwd check engine code p1509

i am having this problem it first started with the tcm was water damage and the wire harness was too i fixed and freplaced the tcm and wire now im getting a problem were when i start my car it gose straight to 8,000rpm and it wont come down to idle and im getting a code p1509 i have a brother that is a mechanic and he tells me to erase the code and do the throttle position relearn procedure and can any oune tell me what that is and he said if it dosent work i need a new throttle body is this true and what any more info can i get please

A used throttle body shouldn't cost fortunes at a junk yard but if you want, get a new one. Nevertheless, you will have to reset the TB after you install it. Some people use VCDS to do this.. others claim there is another procedure that doesn't require vag-com. If you type in "search" on this forum, I guarantee you will be able to find previous threads about the same issue.

Do you mean that the engine actually runs to 8,000 RPM, not that the tach swings to 8K while the engine idles? If it really is taching past redline, you've got a stuck wide-open throttle.
