Default 97 a4 quattro Please Help

The car battery dies overnight. I did an alternator test and its not that. I put an ammeter between the battery lead and battery and started pulling fuses but it seems to be more than one. 2 of them were gauge cluster, and stereo and I cant remember the 3rd. I installed a kill switch, problem solved, well until it needed emissions done and it resets everytime you turn the switch.

Any idea on how to figure out what this is? The only thing that acts weird is the radio only seems to work quietly out of one speaker, the sunroof opens and closes on its own sometimes, and the wipers only come on when they want to.

Bad or loose ground? If so where should I look. Thanks for any help.

How many amps did the meter show with the ignition off? The gauges are going to show a small amperage with the igniton off because that's where the clock is and it turns on the odometer when you open the door. The sunroof opening on its own is probably a dirty sunroof switch. The wipers are probably a bad wiper stalk.

A bad or loose ground shouldnt cause that. It would help if you would give specific fuses, with specific numbers of current.. Basically you need to work your way down the wiring to find out what components are drawing that much current. Make sure when you do this test, the interior lights aren't on.

one thing happened with me. idk why. i installed an aftermarket stereo (it is done correct) and sometimes if the stereo is off when i turn the car off, it will stay on when i pull the key out, just saying what time it is and kill the battery. if the stereo is on when i turn the car off, it will always turn off. the other only happens occasionally.
