Question 97 A4 won't start

I have a 97 a4 v6 quattro 5spd that won't start. I bought this car three weeks ago and it ran fine but needed a tranny. I put a tranny in it and clutch but now the car won't start. It turns over but there's no spark or fuel.

Scan for codes. You could be dumb like me and pinched one of the crank sensors between the motor and tranny. There are 2 and it took me forever to notice. They are above the drivers side axle and connect behind the coolant res. Does just as you describe

I can't check the codes because I don't have a way to use VAG-com. I can check the wires on Saturday, but until then can I get more ideas?

I'm located in northern NH. Where is the crank sensor located and where does it plug into because I didn't pull the tranny?

So I got the car running today. It turned out to be the ICM wires got caught between the tranny and motor, they were crushed and grounded out. We sliced them back together and it started up just fine.
