97 audi a4 VDO display switched off
Can someone help me fix this please.
My mileage/speed/engine check/etc indicator started showing problems when i was traveling. It slowly deteriorated and now its completely switched off.
I can see the 3 bright horizontal lines and nothing else. The OK/speed/MPG/Gear shifts/etc is all blank.
I tried pressing the reset button, switched off the engine and switched it on, pushed every possible button but it did not show up.
Any suggestions or causes is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
FYI- its 97 audi a4 v6 2.8 v12, awd. with 98k miles on it.

okay,
I opened the instrument panel.
removed all screws and unplugged all wires.
Opened the shell saw that my Ribbon that connects the Display is disconnected.
There is a glue inbetween the ribbon connector ends and the bottom of the display.
I tried aligning them in order, but it always slides and disconnects.
There seems to be some kind of a Glue that bonds these two surfaces.
I do not have a good electronic repair guy around my area.
Appreciate if someone who has some electronics knowledge or someone who fixed his display cluster before.
