Just picked one up, wondering what mods you could do to it so it cranks out a bit more horsepower?

 

Nothing, unless you spend about 3-5k and get a PES supercharger. otherwise get and exhaust and intake and be happy with what you got.

best mod is to sell it and get a 1.8T

 

Intake and exhaust is fine, I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on anything, I just like the luxury lol

 

Well, if it's a 98.5 it's got the 30v 2.8, you could get a SpeedTuning chip for it. I've heard lots of good stuff about it, plus it's apparently pretty inexpensive.

 

I'm in the same boat... I wish I had gone 1.8T. But some little things you can do to help:
lightweight brakes, lightweight battery, carbon fiber hood (I've seen them advertised but not sure if it's for just 1.8's... probably interchangeable), lighweight rims, lighter seats, and the intake and exhaust... but all that's a couple grand... I'm trying to spend as little as possible and still have the car run healthily. Just until I can save a little, sell it, and maybe go 1.8T. Good luck!

I am saving up for the supercharger. Buy it around christmas. Its 800bucks off...
