Default 98 A4, 2.8. Firing order

I am putting in a new coil pack. The hanes manual I have is showing me one thing and how it is set up right now is different. I got the car used two years ago and seemed to be running fine. Got misfire codes on 2 & 4. Stupid question, is bank one on the left side standing in front of car?

Yes, bank one is on the left if you're standing in front of the car. And the firing order is 1-4-3-6-2-5.

Is that drivers side left sitting in the car (except for the UK folk), or passenger side left looking into the engine compartment from the front bumber? I'm assuming passenger side.

Looking at the engine from in front of the car. Left side (passengers side in the states) is bank 1.

According to the Haynes manual the coil pack wires are as follow
4 6 5
3 2 1
front of car
but I have-
5 4 6
3 2 1
This is the way I found it.
What is what?

Both sets of coils I have had have said on them where the spark plug wires go. It's on the front cast in the metal.
