99 A4 2.8 30V Low Oil Pressure Light
Hey All-
So I've noticed last week that when the engine is fully warm and I'm on a decel down an off-ramp, I get the low oil pressure idiot light with three beeps. It occurs at low-rpm, fourth or 5th gear and around 25 mph. Usually it goes away after I accelerate away again. I know the 1.8t has massive sludge issues, but this is not common on the 2.8s, correct? The car has 175k and I change the oil every 3-5k, with Mobil 1 with no previous problems. I'm thinking of changing the pressure sender first and maybe the oil cooler o-ring, but there's no significant out of the ordinary leaks under the car. Has anyone experienced oil pump failures on these cars? Seems unlikely for a simple component like that. Lastly, is the pressure sender location and removal procedure the same as the 12V motor?
Thanks for the help.
