My exhaust is free from the manifold and i cant see how it goes together. Both ends are same size. Looks like i need a male connector but dont know what to look for. Ppl keep saying something about a spring being involved. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Second, which engine does your A4 have? It sounds like you have the 2.8.

 

If memory is a problem sometimes its clever to take pictures/videos while you disassemble the car.
