Default 99 a4 quattro trans problem

I was fixing a front control arm when I got it finally replaced I looked over to see transmission fluid leaking. I looked and it seem that my axle popped out of the transmission. I looked closer and it is everything. Not just the passenger side axle but the part that the 6 bolts attactch to also came out of the transmission. Is this fixable or does the trans need to be replaced? any help would be much appreciated. Everything I have looked up just shows to take bolts out and bolt in new axle but that part that the bolts attach to has also came out. My car won't move now either.

sounds bad because they ususally dont pull out. Auto or manual? Can you spin the shafts by hand?

I just figured maybe that part was just pushed in there???? The axles move yes. but the passenger side axle is out of the trans.

The flange is held in place by a snap ring, You must have yanked on it pretty hard as it usually takes a pry bar to force it out. You should be able to force the axle flange back in with a block of wood and a dead blow hammer until the snap ring locks in. Make sure to get a new snap ring (circlip) from Audi before doing that. While you are there you may want to consider installing a new oil seal.
