Default A4 2.8 (1998) Delayed upshift in drive

I am just subscribed to this tremendous forum.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple of things:

1) In 'DRIVE' (1998 A4 automatic Estate with Tiptronic gearbox) from stationery the engine seems to change up later than it did previously, when it does change it continues to change up satisfactorily, seems to be the first change? (Will check soon). I can hear the engine change up at 25-30000 rpm. Also, I think there is a slight rattle on starting engine. Fluid levels appear to be ok.

2)Also there is a clunk / whining noise when brakes are applied at a a walking pace, you can get the brake pedal at the point where this noise is constant. Ideas?

3) The red climaste control LC display is 'blowing pixels' (correct terminlogy? Dots of red appear randomly, they always touch anmother one.

4) Finally, the instrument panel gear indicator is lit up across all gears (ie 1 2 3 4 D & R). I replaced a couple of instrument panel bulbs and this happened, cld be coincidence? but unlikely, could I have seated the centre plugunderneath this displaybadly?

Heres hoping! ....

Thank you, Alex

when your gear display lights up on all the gears it means theres a fault or something theres a section in your owners manual that tells you what this means but it says when the display is lit up like that you will have hard shifts

Ive heard of a common problem with the A4 brakes where they make a noise when goin slow it can be fixed with that blue gunk you put on the back of the pads when installin but the noise always comes back though i cant tell if this is the same as your description of the noise is lacking

Wow the 2.8s rev up to 30,000 RPM
