a4 b5 2000 atw 1.8 TQM Motor Mount replacement
I had a fair amount of play in my manual trans when accel or letting off. My drivers side motor mount has been bleeding black blood for several months. The right side looks fine. I'm getting calculating / lazy now that the car has 195,000 miles, and there are many things to do, so sometimes I cut a corner. I ordered the drivers side only and the snub from autohausaz (along with some other stuff to reach $50 and free shipping). The drivers side was easy because nothing is in the way (like a cat, heat shield, and turbo on the other side). Up on ramps, I put a floor jack with wooden blocks under the oil pan and snub holder, removed the sway bars on both ends (no link removal required), dropped the mount holder, and popped the new mount in. I cranked over the motor before tightening things down just to settle in in. I just drove it and ALL of the stick shift slop motions is gone. I may hold the snub for later. I'll keep you posted if it breaks in unfavorably.
Cheers
