Default A4 Handeling

I recently purchased my wife an 98 1.8t Q. She went to this from an 03 Subaru WRX. Well Ive had complaints about luanch, cornering, and mild drifting. Its been maintained, but is sitting on an oem suspension. Will this ever handle like her former car(which had alot of suspension work)? Or is this simply a result of the Tensor setup?

If it's sitting on OEM "jeep status" suspension then it'll definitely roll more than a lowered WRX. Springs and struts or coilovers will fix that.

Complaints about launch and mild drifting?

Thanks for the input! Wanted to hear from others, before I drop $2000+ on suspension and still get the same complaints.
Launch, mild drifting .. er, shes alil aggressive with her recreational driving.

Never gonna handle like the 03 wry, but its going to handle damn good after some coils, sway bars, new end links, sub frame mounts. Just start getting parts in sure sure stop complaining. How exactly did she launch on 03 wrx? probally one of the worse trannys ever, my friend is the one owner of his wrx and 2 3 synchros have been blown out since 20k. Horrible to shift, i dont like driving it because of this. Its never been launched, once, if it were to be, i bet he be buying a new trans.

There's another current live thread about lowering if you're interested: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b5-...-191647/page2/

Hey thanks. Ill check out the thread. Weve installed everything from polys to 16 way adjustables and pillowball systems. But there is always something unique to individual make/models. Liked to read up on the pros and cons of various systems for performance in this unique driverain.
Thanks again, been lots of help.

Coilovers, larger sway bars, adjustable control arms, 4:1 center diff, new motor/trans/diff mounts = AWD drift missle.

Coilovers, sway bars w/polys for sure.
Larger turbine & fmic(plus lots of piping and exhaust work).
Im thinking a 4:1 center diff might give her the "feel" of power distribution she prefers.
Thanks, I wasnt aware of the 4:1 diff (hadnt found that out yet).
Thanks again.

Her WRX never "launched" that well till we swapped to a stage II clutch. Sorry theres been a few things Ive been vague about in my comparisons. To be honest, Im not fond of awd s. Im a rwd guy myself.

Default 4:1 Diff

Well Ive searched and found a few 4:1 diffs, The problem, I ran into this on the turbo(other reasons) but the 1998-1999.5 have a different tensor 01 diff. in them. Noone seems to make this pre-1999.5 4:1 differential. But we are very interested in the mod.
If anyone has any links let me know please.
Thanks Ivan
