its the driveshaft with carbon fiber and steel,no matter where I put the center hanger bearing adjustment it still gets a vibration when I start out making a left or right turn car chatters, also at 40 mph and around 80 mph,shaft was rebuilt but the guy that did it did not do center hanger bearing so I dont know if thats the problem,this also happens with no wheels on the car when I have it on the lift so its def a driveshaft problem ,I had both front axels rebuilt and all 4 wheel bearings are new ,any thoughts thanks Kevin

 

1- you gave no information about the car, year, engine, im guessing quattro?

2- our drive shafts arent made out of carbon fiber from the factory, so you didnt say where you got the aftermarket shaft.

3- our drive shafts need to be balanced before they are put on the car, i bet your mechanic wasnt aware of that.

 

its a 97 a4 2.8 12 v quattro,autumatic,the only year the front half had carbon fiber shaft,rear is steel

 

I noticed my 96 A4 has the same carbon fiber front driveshaft
