Default A4 suspension "will it fit question"

hello, i am looking to buy a used sport suspension set for my 1997 A4 1.8T, Quattro. I found a set of springs/struts from a 2000 A4 1.8t Quattro. Can anyone confirm if the 2000 suspension will fit my 1997? Thanks!

Yes it will. I believe that the sports suspension came with red shocks and non-sport had black. If they haven't gone to aftermarket. If your looking for a ride height reduction save up for bilstein/koni and H&R springs, you won't be happy with the route your headed. Handling though you should notice it .

Thanks Interceptor! I am more concerned with tighter handling vs. drop height. Regardless, some drop is to be expected, right? Even if it is only a 1/2" or so.

Yes you will have some drop max of 1/2" if you don't have the sport suspension. I had the bone stock height that rode like a 4x4. You will notice at first a harsher ride and begin to wish for the softer ride again but it smooths out and now you can pass people without feeling like your gonna roll it .
Np by the way anytime .
