Default A4 vs. A6 please help!!!!

What do you guys think what would be a better buy?
a 2003 a6 3.0 with 105k for 7000
or a 2001 a4 2.8 with 120k for 6000

i am having a really hard time deciding, especially considering the maintenance

please help!!

thank you

my grandma drives an a6...

but if your comfortable driving one too thats cool, i guess.

go with an a4, a6's are a lot bigger, which for anyone without kids, or people riding in the back seat the majority of the time a4 should be the way to go...

i even wish my a4 was smaller 99.5% of the time (other .5% of the time is when i would have to sit in the back seat, which hasn't happened yet)

a4's also get better gas mileage

I love my A4 but in that situation I'd get the A6. Or maybe just keep looking until I found the car that really spoke to me.

both of those cars have above average miles. if the timing belt hasn't been done yet on either car that can be up to $1k of negotiation power.

I'd take the a6. Reason being it has more cabin space and more luxury. Maintenance on the a6 would cost more but even with that mileage you shouldn't expect any major faults.

Maintainance on both cars will be the same - both have similar engines.

The A6 would more-than-likely be a nicer car, but overall I would say go with the A4. Personally I was never a fan of the way A6's looked from the back. Too round or something I think. Then when you consider the extra cost and gas, I'd take the $1k you save on the purchase price and throw it into the A4
