ok so i had the catalytic converter blow off the turbo a couple days ago and i was lookin at it last night but the car has been running and all since then. so today i went to start it to move it up on ramps and it wouldnt start.

it cranked and cranked, but wouldnt fire up.

now, the only thing ive done since its ran last was unbolt one of the hangars for the exhaust down by the flex pipe and bolted it back on.

do you think maybe it has something to do with the sensors on the cat?

it wouldnt cause the car not to fire up though, just to run like crap

 

well, the shop says the plugs are fouled up but they dont know yet if it is because of the exhaust or just from starting up and shutting off quickly.

No it can't. As Ghost stated, bad O2 sensors will not prevent a car from starting. They aren't even used until the cat warms up and the car goes into closed loop operation.

Fouled plugs would cause your engine to crank, but not catch. If the car was started and turned off, the engine could be flooded. Press the gas to the floor while cranking (this will shut off the injectors). If it was flooded, a few dry cranks should take care of it.

What do you mean by "ok so i had the catalytic converter blow off the turbo a couple days ago"? Unless your cat is clogged tighter than a septic system full of condoms, I don't see how a cat can "blow off the turbo."

What are the symptoms of the car and why have you taken it apart?

well, the pipe between the cat and the flange after the turbo separated at the factory weld. apparently is happened to some other guys on here too. when it came off i heard a loud bang.

 

Which flange actually cracked? The turbo flange or the cat flange? If it's the cat flange, leave the turbo alone and replace the cat with a Labree HFC or have a shop re-weld the flange.
