Default ABS light on......

im new to audi forums and have a problem with my ABS that ive had for way too long and spent way too much money trying to figure out. i own an A4 2001 1.8L FWD. the problem: as i turn on my car and begin driving and using my breaks, it feels as if the brakes misfire (if that makes any sense) and the car makes a weird sound. the brakes feel like theyre skipping, like theres gaps in between breaking. the brake pedal kinda dips as i press on it then comes back up. this happens for about 1 to 2 blocks from where i begin driving and this is before the solid ABS light comes on. when the ABS light finally comes on after 1 to 2 blocks, the brakes begin working fine. brakes pads and rotors do not seem to be the problem. mechanics got the code for the ABS light and they said the problem was the left rear ABS sensor, so they changed it, but the same problem still occurs and it still says the left rear ABS sensor is the problem. now they want to charge me another $75 to check the wiring from the left rear ABS sensor to the module itself. dont know what to do....... pleeeeeassseee help!

I would either let them handle it since they already know the history of your problem or take it to another person who is capable of working on Audi brakes. The last thing you want is to get in an accident because of faulty brakes so that should be taken care of ASAP. If it still says the left sensor is the problem and they now want to check the problem then let them. If you take it to another shop they will want to start all over again as far as diagnostics and that could end up costing you more money.
