Default Abs Lights...Yup

So I've had my car 7 months and my abs lights have been on since day one. It hasn't affected my braking whatsoever. Now its the sold abs with blinking brake lights. i was gonna go buy a new or refurbished or send it in but i was thinking do they have a kit to rebuild it on my own? now to my main point i found out how to make the flashing lights go away, the connector next to the abs module in the engine bay if i just pushed down a little bit on the wire or the right side of the connecter it would make the light go away, if i let go it would come back. NOw that worked for a week now it won't work at all. Any help?

The ABS module going bad is often intermittent at first, but becomes progressively worse until it is permanent. That may be what happened as far as the last part of your post.

This can be a DIY job if you have a low-power soldering iron with a small tip, surgeon-like precision, and lots of determination. I tried to DIY fix my ABS module... it sort of worked, but the end result was that the ABS module had a fault code that said something like "memory error".

In any case, there's a DIY around somewhere. Generally it's easier to have somebody else do it. I had another spare ABS module that was the wrong part number, and was able to swap it out (for $99) with the right one that had been fixed/refurbished. I went with Cheap ABS and had a great experience with them.

Hi, there is a member on audizine.com named K0mpressor that can fix you're ABS control unit for around $75-$100 I believe.

I've been meaning to get my module fixed since I got my car too.. but I honestly have yet to ever think I've needed abs since I owned my car.

i found this to take it out. I will get it fixed eventually but it seems like a hassle ModuleMaster | Audi A4 Info
