Just got my ac recharged from a shop and it still doesn't blow cold the mechanic said he couldn't get it under 70 degres any ideas.

 

the compressor is dead.

 

could it be anything else? Do you think one from the wreckers would be fine don't want to spent the $700 purems.com wants for one. Thanks for the quick reply.

It could be a lot of things, sam.hollis. We need more info. What are the high-side and low side pressures? How much R-134a was put in the system? Was it evacuated, put under a vacuum, filled, and leak tested?
