Default Adjustable Wastegate?

Hey I have been told that you can adjust your psi just by swapping out springs on the wastegate or on this car I was told their is a rod you can tighten and it ups the psi. Also I was told this stock engine can push up to 12psi? Just seeing how accurate this was feel free to throw any comments at me

If you want more boost then chip the car. The ECU needs to know about it. You can get boost lots of cheaper ways but it's all about the tuning. Things work best when your ECU is controlling what's going on.

They can handle more than 12psi.

Yeah i understand to get the most power you chip but i dont wanna drop 300 dollars to get a chip. So I figured why not just tweak the wastegate spring a bit. I heard how to and it sounds easy. About how much can the ko3 hold? psi wise

U can do the diode mod, or a mbc to get more boost. Don't go to much or will rthrow a cell for to much boost.

diode mod is only for cars with a MAP sensor. he never said what year the car was so we have no idea if it will work.

and i agree with all of them. tune it right, or not at all.

It's a 98 1.8t manual. What exactly is the diode mod? and do you know for sure it will handle 20psi? cuz thats a lot of boost for that little baby turbo. Would i have to swap in new oil lines or intake manifold? I just cant get my head to wrap around that one

Yes it is possible, but this would mean pulling the turbo off to adjust the nuts on the wg rod and it would just be easier to run a MBC.

I ran up to 26psi on my K03, but my car was custom tuned for that much boost. My custom race tune for the K03 ran 20psi on 104 octane.
