Default after i finished up the timing belt on the car

i was double checking all the connections were redone and nothing was hanging down into the belts. I noticed the V-Belt for the waterpump was out of alignment with the other pulley.

i think i might have put the 2 plates for the waterpump pulley on backwards or not

i saved the old belt just incase it comes off and i need to do a repair i have it under the hood like i did the starting fluid on my 87.5 coupe GT

can you tell me your audi car model? i am from china, to be honest i can not entirely know your problem. actrually , you must let all pullies be in alignment . otherwise the timing belt will be come out later .can you tell me some details if you wanna know me?

I did the same thing when I did mine.

You can put the front clip into service position without having to remove the radiator or hoses, and then you'll have enough room to remove the pulley and put it on right. Mine was noisy until I fixed it, but did not cause me any problems. As long as the watrerpump is turning its ok. But you dont really want to risk breaking the wp belt, so fix it asap!

can u give me a idea on service position lol im confused as to the meaning

well right now it hasnt made a noise or squeal so its a plus in my book

so its deffinatly just the 2 plates being bass ackwards?

ill have to look into doing it over my weekend right now 100 miles on the car and no isssues only difference is the tempeture gauge is reading hotter then it was before. previously the tempnever moved unless it was heavy city driving and hot out now its a steady halfway no matter what so i think the thermostat was junk.
