Alright, I have no check engine light, which is why I'm confused, I would assume it would tell me something, but the car isn't.

I will swap it out in the morning for the original and clean my MAF, if that's doing it, WOW, never once had a problem with the K&N on my Camaro, Trans Am or Trailblazer.

BTW, Thanks guys for the responses.

The MAF on the Audi is apparently closer to the filter and thus more susceptible to oil fouling.. Lots of examples on the different Audi sites..

the K&N filters are a hit or miss. on my 2000 it worked perfectly, when I upgraded my turbo, I gave my K&N filter to my gfs brother, he owns a 2001, well, the car ran like **** and he never got a CEL. cleaned the maf, changed the filter, and it ran perfectly.
clean your maf with electronics cleaner or something and change to a stock filter, that flapper you removed in the airbox does fuckall so don't worry about it.

If you want a good long-life filter, Amsoil makes one. EAA239. But the regular paper filters are fine - they just don't last that long.

The amount of oil most people use on thise filters is actually too much..normally you can get away with it, but not on those engines.

Honestly its not really k&n fault our car acts funny with these filters its cause audi designed the maf sensor like right next to the sensor, so it gets to suck in more crap in that sensor if it was more near the engine i dont think we would have promblems with the maf sensor and the k&n would actualy help

It is K&N's fault for using that design in general. It affects pretty much any car with a MAF, just some more than others. Paper filters are fine. If you want a long life filter that doesn't get oil on your MAF then go Amsoil.
