air conditioning fan won't stop

Default air conditioning fan won't stop

Hi, i have an Audi A4 2.8 1998 and the A/C fan wont stop, there is this plug under the PS pump cover that i unplug and replug when i turn on/off the car, what to do? please help?

even when the car isn't running and the key is out, the fan stays on?

ect sensor? bad connection or grounded....... causing the fan to stay on?

yea car on or off, key out or in ignition, it still blasts at full speed, i changed the ECT, it didnt work before, now it does but the fan problem still goes on.....

I can only assume there's a relay someplace for that, perhaps its stuck closed??

and i just want to be sure its that fan were talking about, theres 2 fans between the bumper and the radiator, standing in front of the car looking at it, its the one thats on the left right?

Yeah I figured thats the one you were talking about. The fan on the right is mechanically driven, would be tough for that to stay on after you turn the car off

I dunno that changing the fan will do much for you though. What I was thinking is that there's probably a relay in the fuse box in the engine compartment for that fan that's stuck closed, allowing the fun to run all the time. Lemme fiddle around and see if i can find a wiring diagram for that...

alright, thanks alot man, right now i unplugged some wires under the power steering pump cover that powers it, its unplugged and i run the car without that plugged in, i dont run the AC though, i just hope im not messing anything up by leaving it unplugged.
