Default for all of you coilover lovers!!!

ive done some searches and found mixed things on comparisons with coil overs and just normal springs and shocks, with the coil over how much of your ride comfort lost if any compared to the same drop as a set of spings and shocks? for example, coilovers- 1.5 inch drop all the way around and spings with shocks -1.5 inch drop, is there a difference in ride comfort?

It all depends on the spring rate, dampening, and the type of damper each setup uses. Generally coilovers are said to have a little better ride quality, but it deffinetly depends on the setup. I love the way my Streetsports ride, and they handle make the car handle WAY better than stock.

This article might give you some insight on how the different dampers affect ride quality:

btw, you have a B6, what are you doing in the B5 forum?!

yeah im going to go the coilover route, living here in new york the winters can get pretty nasty so instead of having to change the springs and shocks out every season ill just go with the coilovers... a certain brand you guys suggest? budget is at the very max of 1200

look a few threads down and find the one where I was helping a guy figure this all out.

but FWIW, in the 1200 range, I'd just up and get Stasis, or FK's
