Question Any one recognize The plug ont he picture?

hey can any one tell me where this plug goes i keep searching all around the car but i cant seem to find out where it goes maybe is an optional thing?

Doesn't look US Spec to me. Where are you located? What motor is in your car?

2001 Audi A4 1.8T engine is the original that comes in the 01 AWM i think? and i am in California

It looks vaguely similar to the MAF connector..

Isn't that one of the plugs that connects to the stock airbox? It looks familiar to me

My MAF connector is shaped like a "D" and has 5 wires connected to it.

I've never seen that before, maybe something related to CA emissions? I have an AWM and don't recall ever seeing that plug. Sorry I can't be of more help!
i know i never seen it i have no check engine light i checked the box all over the place i cant find anything its just there by the fender passenger side it was hanging by the front bumper. i found it because the a/c does not work so i began to check and i came up on this dam plug lol.

Do you have a MAF and MAF connector hooked up?

Here's a photo of my MAF connector for reference, 4 wires though.

its not the maf my maf is a little round plug looks like a "D" this is a 2 wire plug brown and a yellow black i think.
