Ok so here's a weird story for you, I had this issue on my drive side rear speaker, I superglued the dust cap, let it dry then tested it and everything sounded great, all of a sudden my right side speaker started sounding like crap, the dust cap is secure on it, did I bump something when I was taking stuff apart? I can't figure out where the noise is coming from, it sounds exactly like when the dust cap was loose. I don't here it when I turn down the base so I know it's not really blown either. Anyone has any idea?

Default Thanks a lot man!

All but one of my speakers is doing this. I already had the back speaker replaced twice. I was about to gut the system until I stumbled upon this thread. You're a life saver!

Hey I've been meaning to do this to my car since the previous owner screwed the rear speakers a bit, but how do u remove the plastic covers on the rear deck to get to the speakers?

I tried prying them up a bit and there are no screws I can see so do you know how to take these covers off?

Thanks

Thank you very much for posting this. I just recently bought a pre-owned 01' A4 1.8T B5 Quattro and my front passenger speaker sounded like it was blown. I'm going to buy some Krazy glue today and open up on door panel and hopefully this is the problem. Just in case your Bose speakers are blown DO NOT GO TO AUDI (Stealership). I got a quote for $200 for 1 SPEAKER!!! I got a quote from Bose automotive directly and it's only $40 for a Bose speaker!!! Here is Bose Automotive information:

In the US call:
1-800-231-2673

Outside the US call:
1-508-766-6885

Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET

For information about our other, non-automotive products call:
1-800-999-2673 (1-800-WWW-BOSE)
Outside the US call:

Thanks again for this post.. If it is a blown speaker contact Bose Automotive directly, this will probably be the best $40 speaker you can get...
