have a 2001 Audi a4 1.8t with an AEB engine the cam adjuster is bad i was wondering if any one new if a 2.8 cam adjuster would work i have a hole 2.8 car for parts it is a 2000 year if not is their a way to clean or rebuild my old one so i dont have to pay 200... for a new one thanks

 

No they are different. But did you swap the AEB head in, because a 2001 should be a AWM stock.

 

A 2.8L adjuster wouldn't fit any version of the 1.8T, so just buy a new tensioner.

P.S. $200 for a tensioner?... Thats cheap compared to what it used to be.

 

i got the car with the head swapped it had a lot of things wrong timing belt did not ride on all the rollers correctly had to re modify some things my firs Audi so had to do a lot of figuring out Any suggestions on where to get or what brand cam adjester would be best appreciate the info

 

Id get from ecstuning.com and for a part like that id stick with OEM
