Yes it does. I believe answers can be found in the Newbie guide, but the newer taillights, the ones with no amber and the long reverse strip, are part of the facelift upgrade that occurred in 99.5 and later models. Both engines have the same lights, so it is just the year the car was made that will be the deciding factor.

 

96-99 = the uglies
99.5-01 = facelift tails, look good!
