I have a 1999 Audi A4 1.8t. It is all stock.

The problem that I am having is, when I accelerate quickly my car's boost gauge will get up to 10lbs of boost and then it just drops off and it feels like I just hit a wall, but then I can keep accelerating and I have even gotten up to 20lbs of boost, and it will do the same thing?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

 

somebody correct me here, for im prob not the best one to answer this.

But a stock 1.8t shouldnt boost anywhere near 20psi - it should boost to 9-10psi then taper off from there...

you sure you arent chipped?

not to mention the vagueness here.

 

well it will run around 8-10 psi, but then when i try to accelerate it will get as high as 15, but i just drove it today and it got to 20, so im very confused. I am also sure i'm not chipped
