Default Auxiliary cooling fan function?

I've never seen my auxiliary cooling fan come on (the one on the passenger's side at the front of the engine bay). Not really sure when it's supposed to come on, but I've checked for it with the engine running for several minutes and after I shut off the ignition. I'm guessing it's purpose is to draw air through the condenser and radiator just like the mechanical cooling fan next to it, so I figure they should both operate at the same time, right? If not, when should it come on?

By the way, I ran a 12 volt current to the connector and it worked fine, just a little squeaky. So I'm guessing the fan itself isn't the problem.

well the fan is triggered by a sensor on the lower coolant hose called the fan switch. the fan may be fine but the switch may not be. i'm sure if you drive your car hard and then got out to take a look you'll see it spinning lol, trust me ; )

It also works in conjunction with the A/C, as I had to replace mine for it to function correctly.

My a/c blows out warm air if the car is sitting still for more than a few seconds despite the fact that the system has a full refrigerant charge. I initially thought the problem was just due to the fan, but later realized that compressor keeps shutting on and off. So I guess I've got two problems related to the a/c.

Ok, I drove the car hard, parked it, and looked in the engine bay with the engine running and with the engine off. No aux fan running.

I checked a whole bunch of the wiring related to the aux cooling fan and the fan thermo switch. The fan and thermo switch tested fine in every way. The ground is consistent all the way to the fan motor.

The problem lies somewhere in the positive energy supply somewhere between the two prong electrical connector for the fan and the positive side of the battery. I know there are some relays, fuses, and resistors along this part of the circuit. So my question is, where can I find these? and what should I test or replace first?
