ya you'll want to search HID light or something. as for the RWD conversion, i believe you can mod the center diff for that. there is another mod for the center diff where you can divert the torque setting to 80:20: front:rear. pm manufan for that. i wouldn't really recommend it unless you have another car to drive in the winter

One of the guys over on ProjektGerman just converted his B5 to RWD recently, I'll find out the details and let you know. He said he's planning on switching back to AWD for winter, so since he's switching back and forth, I imagine it's pretty straightforward (though not necessarily simple).

MrFlippant that would be great, it feels good to think that the conversion can possibly easily be switched back and fourth. i am basicly looking for the ability to spend less engine power turning awd when in a straight line, i am planning on supercharging soon.

Reasons for intrest in RWD or FWD Converstion:

1. "Free hp" from less awd drag
2. RWD power is always fun when in control, burn outs, wip'in the tail out, ect.
3. I will only take intrest if the project is not an arm and a leg.
4. Having something that is different that makes people say "really?"

and for those who are interested in putting up a response.....i am not able to sell my awd A4 for a front wheel drive because it is not worth selling because of the dirt cheap price i bought the car for, and the condition that it is in.

thanks onepoint8tee, that was exactly what i was looking for.

so, any comments on this conversion?

and off hand...does anybody know the weight difference between a 2.8L Manual Quattro and a 2.8L Manual FWD? or anything else, im just looking to find out how much extra weight is added to the A4 because of the Quattro system.

If and when i go G2 i am really thinking about doing this to get the full whp potential out of the kit.

My only comment is that AWD is a wonderful thing and I personally would never mess with it, even if I was trying to go really fast in a straight line. I'd only consider it if the car was strictly a track car. Never a daily driver.

Somebody needs to develop a locking kit for quattro's. That way you can flip a switch and lock the center diff. Obviously you would have to release the front as well but this is not new technology...
