Default B5 A4 With in-dash "new" audi B7 A4 Nav System

Hey guys the other day i was at my local audi/porshe dealship picking up my moms Cayenne and when i went back into their lot to pick up the car parked next to it was a white B5 A4 or S4 not sure because it was dark and cold out and didnt bother to walk around the back to check it out. But what did catch my attention was the nav screen inside and when i looked closer i swore i saw a new audi nav system in the dash and wow it looked good. Later that night i shot audi an emial asking about that and they told me that basically it would be extremely expensive to have done because of all the new wiring that would be needed for it to work. But i was just wondering if anyone had that set up or that car! I live in emmaus, Pennsylvania. Ill upload a pic of the nav system in a couple min. It fit the dash perfect and really made me want to pick one up.
Thanks guys

That is not a B5 period. It's a B6 or maybe a B7 (due to the many buttons where ESP is located). Its an RNS-E AudiNav. I'll try to fdind one of the many threads i've covered this on. BTW, expect to pay minimum of $2,000.

^^^ True that. He did say it was dark. lol.

AVIC's and RNS-E's are way different.

I've seen it done before and it requires more work than installing an Avic or something similar. I remember I came across the DIY but couldn't find the link. The part I remember was the fact the person had to do some filing/sanding on the unit it self in order to fit it into the B5.

Here is a picture of a car with it though.

the rns-d was an option for the b5 s4's, so yes, the b5 and late 90's/early 2000's a6's fit.. the a6 needs some sanding of the bezel to fit perfect, but its got more features and looks better, graphically.

The RNS-D is the earlier model though with a smaller screen and I think he'd much rather have the E. I actually had mine pre-trimmed so it fit like a glove. Expensive as hell though.

yeah, just go with something like this instead... looks a lot better than that pic above (IMO) AND you can do a lot more stuff with it im sure. and is a hell of a lot cheaper
