I already posted this up in the intake/exhaust section but Ill probably get more responses from this section but anyway here it is.

I have a 2000 A4 1.8T Q and the exhaust is way to quiet for my liking. Im looking for sound and power and since im in a state where emissions arent a problem im thinking about pulling the catts along with the resonators and getting a straight through muffler. My problem with pulling the cats is i heard its hard on the turbo because its so small and picky... I dislike the magnaflow exhaust sound. Im looking for the rasp and gargle/burp sound in the decel. any ideas

 

Gutting the catalytic converter is good for the turbo. It reduces exhaust hear and makes turbo spool quicker. Gut it out. You are really lucky you have no emissions! And maybe straight pipe the muffler.

 

I strait piped the mid muffler on my old 2.8 a4 which made it a lot louder and sounded good, if you want cheep start there and see what happens.
