"a bitch to work on" can be an understatement with a TT. It's a MKIV/Golf/Jetta/A3 platform with a FWD-based AWD-on-demand system from Haldex (95% FWD under normal conditions). It's very compact in the front end and has a ridonculous lower plate to remove when doing anything under the car. Additionally, it requires Haldex fluid changes every 40K miles (IIRC) that requires a special wrench (what Audi doesn't require special tools!?) If you are used to working on Audis, it's not a big deal. If you are a DIY'er that doesn't like headaches, well no German car is really a good idea!Originally Posted by alex05
well over here in texas they start from $9-13 for the early models lile 00-01, something newer goes for $14-16 02-04 so idk and yea an S4 are from $8-13 but i keep hearing that they are a bitch to work on, harder than the A4 but yea the S4 are sweet to.
Other than that, drive them both back to back. Personally, I think B5 A4 drives much nicer (and is proven better in the snow), but the reason so many different cars are available is simply the fact that different drivers like different things. Drive them and then decide!
