Unhappy Bad gas mileage???

Hi i have an 01 a4 1.8t manual with almost 100k miles. My average gas mileage atm are 18-19 city and about 21-23 highway. Is that normal or is there something wrong? If so where do i start looking at? Thanks in advance.

Man i get 15 no less no more i have a 1.8T AWD TIP 2001 now that my turbo went bad im getting like 16 or 17 cuz im like babying it across town and not boosting that much.I fill up with 16gallons and i get like 250 or 270 depending on how i drive but there are some ppl out there that get 400mile's to the tank city, im guessing it's a bad 02 sensor or maybe a bad sensor of some other type but it dosent matter to me that much cuz i dont drive very far and usually refill every 2 week's or so.

A bad 02 censor could be a contributing factor , but also when was fuel filter last changed and plugs they all help towards fuel consumption, give it a full service and tune up

I'm by no means conservative with the pedal, and I get 21-23mpg.

Better than the 16-19 I was getting in my RX7.

Yeah mine is a quattro. Plugs are new. I use the copper ones ang change every 2k miles. At full tank i can go only as far as 280. And im hella conservative on the pedal. Ill change fuel filter and o2 sensors then and see how it does. Any other factors? Thanks for the replies.

You change your plugs every 2k miles??? Isn't that a bit excessive? I change mine every 50k and they usually don't show much if any wear. IF your plugs are wore out at 2k miles you have some other issues that need to be addressed and soon...

Just driving to & from work on base I get 19 MPG. Highway driving I've been getting 30-32. I was getting better before I got chipped but now that I get so much more boost I can't seem to keep my foot out of it.
