BAD MPG 12v

Default BAD MPG 12v

i have tired everything that i could to get better mpg but nothing works at all. i have no codes at all, i have new plugs wires, fuel filter, seafoam treatment, gas addittives. but nothing works at all. it get about 11 mpg and it doesnt change if i am ruff on it or not. it been this bad since i owned the car. does anybody else have this problem. any idea to get better mpg. i dont have the cash to take ithe engine apart and rebuild it

Are you plugs properly gapped?

yes they are, the car runs fine, it dosent run rough either

Well, you didn't replace a couple of the main items that the ECU uses to calculate AFR... MAF and primary oxygen sensors. Looks like you have a K&N filter, if it was over-oiled it could have fouled the MAF sensor. And oxygen sensors deteriorate over time, if they've never been replaced then it may be a good idea to take care of them.

My awd 12v gets about 22mpg, so you have a huge problem. If you aren't showing any codes, I'd look for a possible fuel leak. Look by the injectors for a leak, a bad oring on the injector could be possible on a 15 year old car. If nothing, follow the fuel lines and look for anything wet or covered in grim.

I agree here, definitely sounds like you're losing fuel some where.

A fuel pressure gauge should reveal the possibility of any leak

I have no fuel leaks at all. i already replaced the injectors. the maf is just fine . and my o2 senors arent that old

Does your Oil smell like fuel? I wonder if your piston rings might be worn down, which might let fuel pass by in the combustion chamber. (I'm just spitballing here, any of you gurus able to confirm or deny?)
