I did as you asked with the battery, no noticeable difference. Car still revs back and forth from 500 and 1000 until finally it stabilizes.

 

I have been driving the audi around lately. Today she has been acting squirrely.

There is a loss of power whenever I take off or I shift gear. It will sputter for a few seconds and not accelerate. eventually it will take off but once I am up to speed if I give it gas and try to accelerate it will sputter again before accelerating.

Once I pulled over and did a quick check for loose hoses and the engine was smoking in the back on the exhaust side.

No engine codes so I am planning on doing spark plugs and air filter tomorrow to start with.

PLEASE HELP if you have any idea because I am lost on this.
