Is bench bleeding H.S.?
I just recently put a new master cylinder in my 2000 a4. Someone told me that trying to bleed the whole system without first bench bleeding the master would ruin that new master cylinder. I bought a kit, it cost me $15 for four little bleeder nipples, all different sizes, so one, and one only, will fit, and 12 inches of hose. totally ridiculous. But anyway, I have no idea if it worked or not, and at this point I don't even care. It seems like you have to do a bunch of pump, pump, pumping with the old 2 man method, but who really cares? I am of the opinion that bench bleeding is a nice thing to do if you've got the space, but is actually unnneccesary. I could have had my car back on the road days ago.
