for 3 figures you might want to look at vmaxx or bottom line H and Rs, how ever with the Vmaxx, I've been told to not expect amazing performance.

h&r springs... that plus a set of bilstines would make you sit lower...

depends on how high you are now/wheel size and how low you want to go

A search for springs/struts/drop might have given you this thread that I started: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...ight=best+drop, read through it, there is a lot of good info about what to do on a budget.

On my 97 2.8 at ~22.8" ground to fender front and back, I enjoy my V-MAXX coilovers I have the rears almost bottomed out and the fronts still have almost an inch of threads left. The ride isn't the most terrible thing ever experienced but it is rough on bumpy roads. I haven't removed or cut the bumpstops at all (yet) which would help for a more comfortable ride. Not sure if you want it that low so if not, you may be satisfied with the ride quality. They use the same spring rates as stock and are mainly for looks.

(not the lowest part of the car)

Got them on sale for around $500 shipped from stratmosphere.com and then the necessary Panzer skid plate for around $270 shipped. Installation is probably a lot easier than you'd expect and after doing the whole job with a friend, I doubt I'd even pay $100 to have it done..

i think they just bumped up their price to $649... or has it always been there?!

http://stratmosphere.com/vmaxx.htm

hmm...

anyone know where you can get these for 500 like aledelic42 did?

or does anyone know if there has ever been a group buy for these or if there is a possibility of being one?

if you have the stock sport suspension then i would just get the h & r lowering springs because the stock sport struts will stay strong for a long time.

I think they were $599+shipping before the one day sale when I bought mine ($450+shipping). They might have a 20% off deal now if you talk to them. If you're interested in buying from stratmosphere, email them. Their customer service is great and would probably be willing to make a reasonable deal with you. I asked them about a group buy a while back but they said it would not be possible because the warranty can only go to one person or something.
Or you could check classifieds for used coils from this and other forums.
