Biggest Tires?
I have a 2000 Audi A4 2.8 Q. 205/55/16. Whats the biggest I can put on without having to roll the fenders. 225? I wanted to stick with a 205 and drop down to a 50 but my buddy whose a new honda mechanic said he has heard from other mechanics that changing the sidewall with out changing the width can mess with the AWD and can play games with the transfer case. (whats the truth to that?) Thanks!
225/50R16 fits great on the stock 16" rims and will work fine with a lowered A4. I'm currently running Conti DWS 225/50R16 on my eibach dropped A4. You can run 205/50R16 as long as all 4 tires are the same, but I personally think they look small.
you have a picture by chance? I currently have ContiProContacts and they look so fat.
225/55R16 is too tall and will set the odometer and speedometer off. Plus they look like balloons.
The conti DWS 225/50R16 are fat too, but they are nicer looking tires than the Conti pro Contacts. Plus they outperform the pro Contacts in every condition. I like the fat tire look, a welcome change over the rubber band look. Plus, adding 40mm of tread on each axle is always a good thing.
I'll take a pic tomorrow if I get a minute.

Up the pressure. I run all 4 at 38 psi for daily driving. The car rides way better and the tires don't wear out as quickly (provided your alignment is right).
