Default Blow off valve/ chip opinions

Fairly stock 1998 a4 1.8t, was wondering what the prefered engine chip was for you guys, and im thinking of throwing a blow off valve in. What brand of BOV is preffered and how much work is it to relocate MAF? Also if anyone is selling any aftermarket parts new or used I'd be very interested thanks

get yourself a forge splitter, its a hybrid valve. you can go 50/50 or full blow off or full recirculating. no need to move your maf. or get a forge 004, its direct fit aswell an you won't need to move your maf. all you need is a plug for where the dv outlet port went.
for your chip. get what ever dealer is close to you, apr, giac or what ever. check the stickies. all needed info is in there regarding chips.

I recommend the Forge 007 and for a chip, GIAC, REVO, APR, or Unitronics. BOV do not work properly in our cars, you need a Diverter Valve. There is no need to move the MAF and check out the classified section for parts.

Check out the guide and scroll down to read about the DV/BOV and Chip sections.

I'd go with a HKS blow off valve. Greddy or Hondata makes great programs/chip for our cars.

And the search engine is your friend.

I keed... Minus the last part.

I'm quite pleased with my APR chip...I'm gonna have to search more on DV, I always wanted to put one but never got around to it.

How are you running a chip without an upgraded DV?

I am very willing to receive more information on it here...I have always been under the impression that a DV is a DV is a DV...that an upgraded DV is just changing the "threshold" so to speak of the diversion. I guess I assume that the computer is dealing with whatever information it receives and compensating :idk:

I have also been under the impression that the performance gains would be fairly minimal if noticeable at all, that's why I never really get around to it.

Please inform me if I am ignorant to any of this
