aswell as my a4 1.8t i am also a bmw *****! but the bmw e30 325i is quicker accelerating than my 1.8t also bmw is much better made and is a 1987 E` reg! I do enjoy both cars though.

 

The way I see it though the 1.8t should be compared the the 318 and the 2.8 to the rest of the 3 series. Stock for stock thats what the comparison should be. I am fairly confident my 2.8 would stick w/ an inline 6 3 series. Next time I see my buddy w/ the m3 wanna be 3 series im gonna see if we can race lol. the fact that a 1.8 vs a xi is a fair race is a strange thing to me since they were both awd and the audi should have less hp.

the a4 1.8t cannot be compared to the 318 because the audi is turbocharged. my brother has had turbo fitted to his 94 bmw 525i and that really moves! reckon if turbo fitted to 318 my 1.8t would`nt have a chance! ha, reckon i need a chip.

 

Doubtful. It's got more torque and your awd absorbs a decent amount of your power. You could hang, but probably not stick.

Its funny how I never really hear a BT guy talking about racing(besides a the strip of course) Its always high school kids that feel insulted someone said they got a faster car. I say we ban all threads w/ a car racing lower than a GTRS or race fuel

you own both an a4 1.8t (which is at least a 1997) and a 1987 325i, and you think the bmw is better made? ive been in a few of those cars, and im not denying the build quality of them, but you cant compare apples to oranges. The build quality of the b5 a4 is far superior to that of the e30. But the thing i find even more interesting, is that you thought it was necessary to dig up an old and crappy thread, to let us know youre diluted thoughts.

 

lol i ran against my buddy from a stand still to 60 i had my 97 1.8t and he had a 87 325i with exhaust sure he got off the line better but i caught up and passed him before the end of 1st and it was lights out from there. i have a few friends with late 80s bmws and all they do is complain about the things that go wrong with them it seems like they are always in the shop

 

yeah audis dont get the recognition they deserve... people will be talking about a honda or a mustang or something and ill say something about my audi and theyll just be like "uuh oook"
