boost!
soooo my birthday just passed buy yesterday and all of my friends pitched in and bought me a
greddy profec b 2 spec.
it looks nice but im not sure where im going to install it yet because its kinda big.
i was thinking under the air conditioning vent on the driver side.
maybe cut out a custom box or something. any other ideas?
anyways i wanted to know what issafe boost to run at with an apr chip?
thanks

As far as mounting it, put it in the armrest, mounted vertically at the back. You won't have to mess with it much, so it'd be fine there. Or (and I'm not sure what year your car is) if you have the center console cupholder design instead of the one on the dash, remove the dummy knockout covers in the switchbank to the right of the hazard switch and make a trim ring for it to mount in there, between the hazard button and passenger seat heater temp selector.

17-20 psi is a good amount of boost to have, make sure you upgrade your dv when you chip. your stock one will work, but it will wear out pretty quickly.

Pretty sure 20 psi is what the chip shoud have you spiking at.
^why are u scratching your head? is 17-20 not about what apr chip spikes up to? didn't he want to know a good but safe amount of boost? yes, since we do have a 4 bar fpr, you can boost 20-22 psi fine with the mbc.
if you spike to 17, then yes u might have a small boost leak. if you hold at 17, thats pretty good with a chip. I hold at 17 and the power is good. remember, the more psi does not mean more power.
sounds like you got good friends, make sure they know that
as far as the ebc, i'd say put it somewhere hidden so it won't get nicked. if it will fit in the armrest that would be decent but would probably require some cutting for the lines. how about the glovebox or below the seat?

thank you all for the help.
i like the idea of below my seat except for the fact that i like to drive up close and i think my knees would hit it.
or did you mean completely under my seat?
glovebox sounds good too but i want it to be seen so when i am driving i can just glance somewhere to see what im boosting...
it seems to me that around 20 psi shouldnt be too much pressure.
i read once on these forums that each psi additional boost from stock should give me near 10 hp boost? is that true?
does anybody know how much i am capable of pushing reguarding to whp and quarter mile times just to give me an idea??
ive got a lot of people waiting in line to run it with me.
im still in high school so the competion isnt that bad. haha
