Default Boost gauge install

Well, since the weather might get into the 60s this week, I am thinking about putting in the boost gauge and pod that I got for xmas in. My question is were is the best place to get power the the light so it comes on when I turn on the headlights. I really hate electrical work.

The 75x post behind the knee bolster of the driver will give you ignition-switched power. Headlight power is a little more tricky. Do you have illuminated center vents? You can get the light-switched power from the red wire.

yeah, i did mine with the 75x as well. i dont think hes putting his in one of the vents, he said he had a pod (unless its a pod that fits in the center vent), does that mount right behind the steering wheel?

He can still use the vents to gain headlight switched power if he has illuminated vents. Just pull the vent carriage out and lead off the red wire, and run it to the pod behind the dash.

I have never done this, but he might also be able to find switched headlight power from the headlight relay behind the glove box.

I used this source as well and I grounded on a bolt in the fuse box area in the driverside dash. If you have a vent pod there's a really good wiretup on www.goapr.com the only thing not in there is the light power wiring which you now have here. Good luck, by far one of the most useful mods for a turbo charged car.

I read the write up on Audi DIY, and I think I'm gonna go from the vent, even though its not a vent gauge. Gonna put on my 034 motorsports carbon engine cover on too, I just have to remove one of the factory cover mounting points.

So I got everything done. I ended up using the 75X post as well because the wires in the vents were way too small. Took it for a test drive around the block and it works just fine. That thing has to be worth 150hp all by itself!
