Boost leak help
#13
That sound your heard by the exhuast manifold during the boost leak test is not a boost leak, it's oil in the pcv system getting pushed back into the head- or something like that likely causing the smoke. If you had a boost leak you'd hear it between the turbo and intake manifold. I'm thinking that you don't have a boost leak. Did you upgrade your DV and gap your plugs to .028? If your plugs are at the stock .032, the spark may actauly be getting blown out during high boost.

YUP, knew it... you are one of many that have gotten screwed by that DIY!
IMPORTANT: In order to perform the pressure test, it is very important that you disconnect the PCV return hose from the TIP. This WAS NOT written in the writeup I was following.....
what happens is that after the system is pressurized, oil comes back down the pcv pipe into the TIP...and hence the turbo....you will end up with blue smoke in your exhaust.....in order to stop this you have to disconnect the check valve for the PCV return line and plug the hole
I used a rubber wine bottle cork and a hose clamp to plug the hole
From the DIY I use!
check out here next time!
https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...12#post1225912 make sure you remove the TIP!
