Default braided vacuum lines

Howdy,
01 A4 1.8QT
I'm attempting to determine where the braided vacuum line that runs across the front of the motor attaches. One end is attached under the fuel injection system----from there, it runs across the front of the motor toward the passenger side and down near the airbox. Mines currently loose and frayed and not attached to anything down there. Anyone know what it should be attached to? I'm working on replacing all the old braided lines with silicone.

I looked at all the diagrams i could find but still can't figure it out. It's the only braided line that runs across the front of the motor.

Thanks much,
Tom

It goes to the diverter valve. Turns out thats a very important hose to have connected for proper boost! My advice to anyone who's having low boost is to first replace all the crap braided vac. lines.

Glad you got it sorted. If you have the time and technical ability, I would suggest you go through and replace every vac line you can find with silicone. Then you'll never have to worry about them again.

What he ^^^^ said. It's about $5 for a bunch of hose at the auto parts store, then about 20 mins of cutting and replacing. Any leak anywhere means a lot of actuators don't work right...and you're losing some manifold vacuum/power.
