brake light
let the car warm up todayand went out to go drive it, pulled out and heard one beep looked at dash, and it said "brake light" on the top few lines of the lcd display. brakes seem to work just the same as they always have. manual says check brake lights, fuses, and electrical connections. should i have any other concern? plus i think it is my brake light. my buddy was pullin in the car last night and i noticed when he hit the brakes the left light wasnt on. this bulb replacement a tough fix?
If it's the brake light, it should be an easy fix.
Just take off the trunk panels covering the back part of the taillights and you should be able to pop the bulb holder right off (if I remember correctly, there are clips holding it in place do you need to push the clips to undo these taillights).
Make sure you got the correct replacement though. The brake light basically has 2 light strings, so you need to make sure of that.
Good luck!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have the same problem with the brake light warning. (left brake light). I changed out the bulb and it still did not work. I checked the fuse and that is fine. After more research it may be a ground connection...Is this an easy fix? If so, is there a diagram or instructions anywhere? Thanks in advance.
BTW I have a 2003 A4 Avant Wagon if that matters.
