Default brake light out wtf

Now to day I got a brake light warning on dash coming on. I just got the car and guy before me. Was a real wire hack. Car has after market tail and headlights. Tail light are ebay kind look half led had reg bulb. Now after a mth warning now on. Has ebay headlights hook up seems like only one head light channel. At a loss trying to rewire things. Did tail light buy light still on. Head light rewired halos to running lights. Still think head light wrong but all lights are are working

The brake warning light shouldn't have anything to do with the headlights. But it's hard to tell what the PO did when wiring them up. If you have LEDs in the taillights, the car will think the brake lights are out unless you put a resistor in series with the LEDs.

^^

This.

Unless you wire in a resister anytime LED's are used in the headlights or taillights they throw the bulb out warning.

It might be wise to try and source some OEM headlights and tails. Shoot me a PM we have both available.

A resister is something you add inline to the wiring. I would Google this topic if you aren't sure how they work or where they are used.

As for the size I'm not sure. Different sizes offer different resistance, so you'll need to find out how much resistance is required to keep the light off.

You could also find this by digging around on Google or different Audi forums.

It sounds like you have some major wiring issues going on. You might need to take it to a professional.

Either you have some batshit crazy wiring, or you have what I had, and accidentally put an 1156 bulb in an 1157 home. Cruise would go out when I turned the lights on, no brake lights with headlights, front corner lights and THE WHOLE dash came on when I hit the brake. Popped some 1157s in there and everything went back to normal. I used 25W 100ohm resistors from KrautoLED when I did my LED conversion. Everything is hunky dory now. Hope this helps!
