so i have a 2000 a4 30v...i just got car back on road after replacing engine, clutch, gaskets, seals, etc...anyway there seems to be a noise coming from the front of my car when i apply the brakes. The noise is only when im near a dead stop between 0-15 mph and does not make the sound when im going faster and apply brakes. The sound is almost a grinding sound...which many may think is pads but i just replaced pads, rotors, and couple calipers this past summer. I know car was sitting for a month while work was being done and they may be rust..but could it possibly need new brakes?

also i just replaced cam chain tensioners and valve cover gaskets because my cabin would fill with oil burning/rubber burning smelling when at a stop. Also i noticed small amount of smoke coming from rear of engine on passenger side which pointed to VC gaskets leaking. i replaced said parts and The smoke was gone and car was running fine for past few days...but this morning i noticed the faint smell once again when i turned on vents at a stop..any ideas?? i checked coolant levels and oil levels and they seem to be stable..
