I run EBC Red Stuff and am very happy with them. Low dust, no squeal, good stopping power. Rears were $40, fronts with sensors ran about $80

I think a lot of people run Hawk here. I personally run Carbotech and love it.

1999.5 is the facelift so you should have one similar to mine (2001.5). Basing it on that, mine has the sensor since it'd tell me when the pads are low and it would show on the LED display. I'm pretty sure 1999.5 also have that full size LED screen.

If you wanna check, the sensor is a simple plug. Look for any cable that connects from the pad to the car. I believe the cable is black in color. It may be different for your car tho.

If its any help, I just changed my brakes and discovered that my 97 does not have the sensor.

i ran hawk HPS pads. great stuff. took 3 weeks and lots of hard braking for wheels to turn color.

the stock B8 pads suck **** as far as dust goes. i'm so pissed at audi for doing that. 3 days and i got gunmetal
